Sorbus can be deciduous trees or shrubs with simple leaves and clusters of small white or pink flowers. The blossoms are followed by white, yellow, pink, red or brown berries; some have fine autumn colour. They are usually upright in habit. Sorbus aucuparia is a robust native tree that produces mounds of white blossoms in the Spring. It is ideal for smaller gardens and will tolerate nutrient poor soils. Plant in full sun to partial shade.
