Salix are deciduous shrubs and trees a range of habits. Foliage is simple, with tiny flowers in catkins, male and female usually on separate plants. Some are valued for their brightly coloured winter shoots, others for their foliage or showy male catkins. ‘Kilmarnock’ is a pendulous, yet rigid, small tree with yellow branches, oval foliage and long grey catkins that will open before the leaves appear. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil.
