Ribes can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs with simple, lobed leaves. Small tubular flowers borne in spring or summer, are followed by juicy, sometimes edible berries. A self-fertile, dwarf variety of the blackcurrant family, ‘Ben Cannon’ is ideal for growing in smaller gardens. It will produce high yields of round, shiny, black fruits that will ripen simultaneously. Plant in a sheltered, sunny location in well-drained soil.
