Cotoneaster can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs or small trees, with simple, entire leaves and clusters of small white or pink flowers in spring and summer, followed by showy red, purple or black berries. ‘Major’ is a creeping ground shrub that will be smothered in white blossoms in the summer and then subsequently laden with red berries in the autumn. Plant in any well-drained soil.
Site & Soil: Grow in well-drained soil in full sun or part shade.
Hardiness: Hardy throughout most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites. Potted plants at an increased risk of damage without protection.
