Cornus can be deciduous shrubs or trees, some with brightly coloured young stems. Dense clusters of small flowers are creamy white, sometimes with showy bracts. Many have fine autumn colour. A medium-sized, suckering shrub, ‘Flaviramea' has oval foliage that will turn to fiery shades in the autumn before tumbling to the ground to reveal the vibrant chartreuse stems beneath. Another great specimen for winter colour, be sure to plant this well-drained soil located in full sun to partial shade.
