The Wedding Cake Tree, so named for it strongly tiered branches bearing ovate leaves broadly margined with cream that resemble a layered and frosted cake. Small, creamy flowers in flat clusters are followed by black berries, lending more towards the descriptive name. 'Variegata' is a small deciduous tree, perfect for a statement specimen in any garden.
Site & Soil: Grow in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
Hardiness: Hardy throughout most of the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open or exposed sites. Potted plants at an increased risk of damage without protection.
