'Ryusen' is a gorgeous and rare cascading form of the traditional upright Japanese maple. Medium-sized green palmate leaves turn yellow and then crimson in the fall. Unless staked, it will grow flat on the ground. This plant needs to be staked and whenever it's released it will weep. Deep green typical A. palmatum leaves that turn pretty red orange in the fall.
Site & Soil: Grow in fertile, moist, well-drained neutral to acid soil in full sun to partial shade.
Hardiness: Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe.
Eventual Height & Spread: 1-2m x 1-1.5m.
Other: Leaf scorch can be caused by lack of soil moisture or excessive exposure.
